Thomas George

Thomas George is President of the CyberMedia Group and CyberMedia Research (CMR), and Managing Editor & CEO of the CyberMedia Group of Publications — India's leading technology media portfolio comprising Dataquest, PCQuest, Voice & Data, CIOL, DQChannels and DQWeek. In this dual capacity, he leads editorial strategy and content across the group's publications while heading the management and business operations of CMR, one of India's foremost market intelligence and advisory firms.
A veteran of the Indian ICT industry with more than three decades of experience, Thomas has built his career across technology journalism, market research, sales and marketing, business development, client servicing and general management. His editorial focus spans enterprise technology, telecom and digital transformation, with an emphasis on high-quality, insight-driven content that shapes industry conversations across both print and digital platforms.
He has been the driving force behind transitioning the publication business and building and leading the CMR research business from scratch. Before his current role, Thomas spent over six years as Senior Vice President leading CMRSL and CIOL at CyberMedia Research, following a distinguished fourteen-year career at IDC India that culminated in his appointment as Country Head & Vice President. At IDC, he led pioneering initiatives including research in non-traditional domains, city-level market sizing studies for key IT product categories, and the establishment of the Go-To-Market Services practice. His focus on customer service and satisfaction was a major factor in the expansion and growth of IDC (India) Ltd.'s research business in India.
Thomas has consistently delivered growth-oriented, measurable results throughout his career. He received the Best Executive award on multiple occasions, the Best Manager award on three occasions, and the CyberMedia Board of Directors' award for excellence in leadership and commitment to overachieving business goals. He has also served as a jury member for multiple industry awards, including The Economic Times Tech Marketers Awards and the Enterprise Technology Decision Makers Awards.
An Economics graduate, Thomas is a qualified Lead Auditor for ISO 9001:2008 Quality Management Systems and a certified Six Sigma Green Belt quality professional. He is a practitioner and strong advocate of teamwork-driven leadership and human capital creation in the knowledge industry and in social settings. Beyond his professional life, he serves as Church Secretary of St. James CSI Malayalam Church, Lingarajapuram, Bengaluru, until May 2027, as part of his community service. He is based in Bengaluru, India.
